‘European Security Research – The Next Wave’ was organised by the NSAI and featured presentations and workshops by policy makers, crisis and emergency management, first responders and the research community. Several other European projects were represented at the event, including S-HELP, DESTRIERO, AQUASMART, SECTOR and CRISP.

He gave an overview of COBACORE – the concept behind the project, and the progress to date. This was followed by S-HELP Coordinator Karen Neville’s presentation on her project, which is developing a decision support system for emergency management.
The other conference themes were on the topics Crisis Management Standardisation, Cyber Security and Big Data where the private sector, research and scientific communities were represented by a diverse group of presenters.
Day two and three involved workshops and world café sessions, giving further opportunities to network and explore collaboration opportunities with other projects.
